Welcome –<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

to the English Province of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Loreto Sisters<\/span><\/h2>\r\nWe are \u2018an international and multicultural Institute,\r\nwe live and work in many different lands and cultures.\r\nOur unity and identity as apostolic women are forged\r\nin a common mission and spirituality.\r\nThey are supported through the communion that we share\r\nand the prayer that characterizes our way of life.\u2019 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(Constitutions Volume II\u00a0 Chapter 1)<\/em>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\u2018We are companions of Jesus,\r\nwomen at the heart of the Church,\r\ncalled to follow Christ in a discipleship of love,\r\nready to labour\r\nwith freedom and joy,\r\nthat in all things God may be glorified.\u2019 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(Constitutions Volume II\u00a0 Chapter 1)<\/em>\r\n

The first members of our group were attracted by their friend\u00a0Mary Ward<\/strong>\u00a0whose deep love of God and\u00a0sincerity, gifts of listening and being with people, inspired them to be with her.\u00a0\u00a0Together they left everything and set off to respond to the call of God in their lives.\u00a0\u00a0They went all over Europe founding schools for girls, visiting the sick, the poor and the imprisoned. This was 1609, the beginning of our story.\u00a0\u00a0The years have gone by and century after century, hundreds and hundreds of women, members of our group, continued and developed this work according to the needs of the time.\u00a0\u00a0We are following on in the same spirit as those who have gone before us.\u00a0\u00a0Like them we take new challenges, new ways of being in ministry and new ways of being together as community.<\/span><\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
