\"Jan<\/a>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJanuary HOP in English<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\r\n\r\nWe pray with the Church and the World\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\r\n

Many question in their hearts: why a Jubilee of Mercy today?\u00a0 Simply because the Church, in this time of great historical change, is called to offer more evident signs of God\u2019s\u00a0 presence and closeness.\u00a0 This is not the time to be distracted; on the contrary, we need to be vigilant and to reawaken in ourselves the capacity to see what is essential.\u00a0 This is a time for the Church to rediscover the meaning of the mission entrusted to her by the Lord on the day of Easter: to be a sign and an instrument of the Father\u2019s mercy (cf. Jn 20:21-23).<\/p>\r\n

For this reason, the Holy Year must keep alive the desire to know how to welcome the\u00a0 numerous signs of the tenderness which God offers to the whole world and, above all, to those who suffer, who are alone and abandoned, without hope of being pardoned or feeling the Father\u2019s love;\u00a0 a Holy Year to experience strongly within ourselves the joy of having been found by Jesus, the Good Shepherd who has come in search of us because we were lost; a Jubilee to receive the warmth of his love when he bears us upon his shoulders and brings us back to the Father\u2019s house; a year in which to be touched by the Lord Jesus and to be transformed by his mercy, so that we may become witnesses to mercy.<\/p>\r\n

Here, then, is the reason for the Jubilee: because this is the time for mercy.\u00a0 It is the\u00a0 favourable time to heal wounds, a time not to be weary of meeting all those who are waiting to see and to touch with their hands the signs of the closeness of God, a time to offer everyone the way of forgiveness and reconciliation.<\/p>\r\n

May the Mother of God open our eyes, so that we may comprehend the task to which we have been called; and may she obtain for us the grace to experience this Jubilee of Mercy as faithful and fruitful witnesses of Christ.\u00a0\u00a0Pope Francis: Homily for Divine Mercy<\/em> Vespers<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n

All the victims of war, violence, immigrants, trafficked persons, homeless,\u00a0 marginalized, and all the people we promised to pray for\u2026<\/p>\r\n\r\n

We Pray with the Institute<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\r\nOn 23rd January\u00a0 D.Vimala Jenifer, Nirmala Toppo,\u00a0 Noela Tamang, Babina Lepcha, Anima Kerketta, Maxima Toppo, Mariam Ekka, Madhuri Lakra, Kirubina Tigga, Anu Anet Lepcha and Lily Grace Soreng will pronounce their First Vows<\/strong> in Kolkata<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nWe pray with and for them that God\u2019s blessing will be with them as they continue on this journey of covenant love and commitment to the Gospel of Jesus. May the whole Institute be a guiding light and witness to their commitment.\r\n\r\nWe pray for God\u2019s blessing on Nirmala Minj<\/strong> IBVM from India who will begin her\u00a0 ministry in the Australian Formation House in Manila\u00a0 this month.\r\n

Let us remember each other in some very personal and tangible way as we pray the Mary Ward 2016 prayers January 23-30.\u00a0 May each one be aware in an ever-deepening way of our oneness of mind and heart as we pray.\r\n
